About your course

Course content

The overall aim of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is to improve the quality of a person's life and the people around them.

By the end of the session, participants should be able to:

  1. Define PBS including: (i) 6 key principles of PBS; (ii) PBS person-centred framework and its overarching values (inclusion, choice, participation, and equality of opportunity)
  2. Develop understanding that PBS consists of a blend of person-centred values and is based on behavioural science and to apply this evidence to inform decision-making in practice
  3. Exam knowledge that enhancing a person`s life quality can minimise problem behaviour
  4. Describe good positive behaviour and how teaching new skills is linked to positive behaviour and how to create a positive behaviour support plan

Learning and teaching

Study mode: Synchronous online delivery via virtual classroom using one of the following web-based learning and teaching platforms (e.g. MS teams, Kaltura new row, Adobe Connect, Zoom).

  • Sponsorship by your employer.
